This original knife available in left-handed and right-handed versions is an original design from the folks at Michihamono. With a paracord wrapped handle and leather case for safety and blade protection, it is meant for outdoor crafts and woodcarving. One thing that makes this knife unique is the angle of the blade - the cutting edge is somewhat parallel to the knife itself, as opposed to angled back as with most kiridashi or other Japanese carving knives. That means you don’t have to turn your wrist when completing a cut, increasing strength of cut and efficiency.
The knife is made of layered high-speed steel, meaning it retains a sharper edge longer. Michihamono makes a very cool E-Z Care sharpening kit for their high speed steel tools which we highly recommend.
